About the Author
Dr. Carl Rubino initiated the Philippine programme at the University of California, Santa Barbara where he taught both Tagalog and Ilocano. With a background in typology, he has lectured on Philippine linguistics on four continents. He currently lives in Washington D.C. where he is a computational linguist specialising in natural language processing and machine translation.

Great, some deep Ilocano words I've never heard of

I needed an Ilocano dictionary because I just suck at spelling words. I admit it is unacceptable for someone who was brought up in the Philippines not learning Ilocano spelling. We just spoke Ilocano in the provinces and just did not have time learn spelling.
This dictionary is pretty good. You wont find anything else that comes close to this. You have the basic Ilocano words and then they have those deep Ilocano words that I have never heard off.
One thing that sets apart this dictionary is about the introduction of Ilocano. It covers Ilocano culture, grammar structure, and some sample sentences. This dictionary just needs a fancy book cover and it will sell like lumpias.

Disappointing - Wrong Picture for Book,

The picture shown for this book is wrong, it has Ilocano to English AND English to Ilocano dictionary written in the title. That was my reason for buying it. Disappointingly the book received only has English to Ilocano dictionary and the picture on the cover is different. I should have read the reviews as others said the same. I went back to the re-read the description for the book and they do not mention Ilocano to English dictionary even though it is clearly visible in the picture. The seller should change the picture to the book being sold.

learn words and phrases but not how to use them together.

Dictionary and Phrasebook...it still doesn't teach you how to use the conversation or really how to even write it if you need to use certain words.
you really need a tutor and no one i know, is will to teach Ilocano. LOL.
Seriously. the english tongue does not translate to Ilocano very well.
