Lovely and Poignant Book

This book was well written with contributions from many people that knew and loved Freddie, the man. It starts off with heartfelt memories and facts from a close friend of Freddie's, and from his first serious male lover. It then goes into memories and quite poignant and sweet stories from others throughout the book. It was all written in good taste, and made me appreciate Freddie even more, which I didn't think was possible.

Sexy, sassy Ms Remy at her best!!!

This is the third novel I've read by Carole Remy and it's my favourite! Whilst I loved the sweet wickedness of Twelve Nights and the saucy encounters of Who is Candid?, Beauty of the Beast has totally charmed me.
The plot and characters are darker and more intense than Lucy and Dick (Who is Candid?) and Aggie and Jimmy (Twelve Nights). I loved those characters but Mary Jane and George come from a different world and a different time.
In Beauty of the Beast we get a glimpse into the SM scene of 1950s America through a tale which is expertly weaved around the ideology of the fairy-tale. Beauty is explored on different levels, as is the concept of the beast and how we, as humans, often conceal our true selves.
Don't get me wrong, this isn't a full moral lesson disguised as a novel! It is a thoroughly enjoyable read and the heroine, Mary Jane, is sexy, sassy and independent with a wicked sense of humour. The first two pages had me laughing until my sides ached and Ms Remy weaves this heady mix of humour and darker desires with the skill of a truly talented author. She encapsulates how complex we all are and delves into the idea that we all are multi-faceted.
Beauty of the Beast is a love story, it is erotic, it is an extended metaphor. There is a mystery, there is a tale of growing obsession and there is a clear picture of how insanity is just a step away if you allow your cravings to completely consume you.
My favourite line of the novel had to be ...the age old rhythm we are born to know... You'll have to read it to know what I'm talking about! ;-)
Ms Remy perfectly captures our more basic instincts and delivers them in her uniquely direct and delicious style.

Hot as Texas!

Beauty of the Beast is my first look at Erotica since I was a teenager doing a little wide-eyed exploring on my own with a paperback and a flashlight under the covers. That was a while ago! Beauty is a quick paced, spice laden romp set in 1950's Texas where the genteel manners of the south contrast with the real sexual action hidden behind thick walls and moneyed social structure.

Mary Jane Andrews is a brave, spirited reporter, as smart as she is impulsive, who is determined to get the story about a secretive sex house near Austin without fully understanding the price she will pay for her ambition. In and out of trouble, actually, in and out of a LOT of things, Mary Jane ends up with a lot more than a story.

This book is a delightful erotic ride. Funny, explicit, definitely arousing, yet with a endearing sense of playful abandon that is quite engaging. If you like to lose yourself in some zesty fantasy, this is the book for you!

Smoking Hot Read!

Carole Remy is my hero. She never fails to leave me breathless and filled with longing. Now I want to go and hang out at an S&M club. *sigh* Her characters rock and you can feel every nuance of emotion ricocheting around in Mary Jane's head. From the irritation of her male dominated work situation to the harrowing experiences as she undertakes an adventure that would leave most of us shaking in our designer pumps.

I am still reading this jewel and am loving every second of it! Carol you have outdone yourself with this wonderful book. Now, I am going to go and refill my ice water (again) and go back to my e-reader. Sexy, hot and tons of fun, this read has made my vacation and I think I may just run out of ice. lol.

5/5 for sheer hotness and not wanting to ever sleep when there's a new Remy in the house. Woot! :)

Cheburashka always rocks!

This is as good as it gets. If you once fell in love with this cute Russian character, you will always have a soft spot in your heart for him.

Acts like a child. Innocent and sweet. And eager to learn to be good and better!

I would call this a perfect book of children's stories. For toddlers and older!

This book comes in the original Russian language. Contains the original stories by Eduard Uspensky (some of which were turned into the animated films!). And the artwork is good, too!

Robert Sepehr entreteje maravillosamente los hechos cient�ficos actuales con los viejos mitos, y se atreve a abordar lo que la academia simplemente se niega a enfrentar, como el hecho pol�mico de que somos, de hecho, una especie h�brida. Robert lo demuestra explicando los nuevos hallazgos en el genoma humano y el registro arqueol�gico en un formato f�cil de entender, sin embargo, de manera sofisticada. WOW this book really suprised me!

I have to say we didn't expect much from this book but it has been great!!! We did cheat some, like still having our morning mocha's and somtimes grabbing a small snack so we don't have hunger pains but it still has been working out. So with me doing a workout every other day I have loss 13 lbs. in 2 weeks. My wife who comes homes beat from work and doesn't have time to workout due to her also going to school full time online has lost 7lbs.

Also some of the recipes are kind of weird but actually taste great considering what you put in them. And we are going to keep some of those recipes for our regular meals when we leave the diet because they are so good. The lasagna with zuchinni has to be my favorite.

I have to say if you are even more dedicated then we are then this diet will work out great for you. We actually have felt great while being on the diet and not starving like most of the one's we have seen in the past.

Check this one out I don't think you will be disappointed by it.

I used the Hilton Head diet years ago to good results, so when I suffered an injury that prevented me from working out to keep off the weight, I went back. Fortunately, the author has upgraded the menu which is terrific. I found it hard to believe you could lose weight while eating baked potatoes and spaghetti but if you use the dishes in sequence it triggers the metabolism and the pounds melt away. I even cheated a couple days a week with a bourbon rocks and still lost 15 pounds in five weeks. This works!

The menu choices seemed dated, but it worked for me like NOTHING else. I'm forty, a mother, have hypothyroidism and just couldn't lose weight. I found this book in a pile of books a friend of mine was getting rid of and thought, "Well here's one I haven't tried yet."
So glad I did, the first week I lost 2 inches in my waist, usually the LAST place I lose, within 4 months I lost 20 pounds and was in my goal size clothes. This plan does work, you won't have to buy unfamiliar hard to find foods, but it does take a quite a commitment on your part as far at the eating and exercise plan.

Peepshows were introduced in the mid-eighteenth century by Martin Engelbrecht in Augsburg. Viewing a Paper Peepshow is an intimate, individual experience that, in the age of television and hand-held computers, gives a real sense of personal discovery. The viewer engages by peeping through a tiny hole and thereby discovers inside layers of images, like a pocket-sized stage set.

The format lent itself to a wide variety of subjects: to coronations and to state visits and funerals, to pleasure gardens, to trips up rivers and to the ceremonial openings of new railways, to distant views of cities and to tourist landmarks, to military engagements in exotic places, and to the July Revolution and the fall of the Bourbons in France in 1830. The Crystal Palace, erected in Hyde Park 1851 for the Great Exhibition, inspired the production of very large numbers of peepshows, mostly made overseas and imported. Peepshows made possible visits to sites existing in the imagination, to plunge down Alice's rabbit hole, for example, and to wander through the Garden of Eden in Paradise.

The main center of peepshow manufacture in the nineteenth century was toy-making Nuremburg. Briefly in the 1950s it was Britain. Nowadays it is the United States. Paper peepshows are no longer intended essentially for children but for bibliophiles and art-appreciating adults.
